10 Also the Philistine said, I defy the host of Israel this day: give me a man, that we may fight [a]together.
11 When Saul and all Israel heard those words of the Philistine, they were discouraged, and greatly afraid.
12 ¶ Now this David was the (A)son of an Ephrathite of Bethlehem Judah, named Jesse, which had eight sons: and [b]this man was taken for an old man in the days of Saul.
